We are seeking a talented and motivated PSS/E & PSCAD Analyst to join our team. The success candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, and optimization of renewable energy projects using PSS/E (Power System Simulator for Engineering) and PSCAD (Power System Computer-Aided Design) software. This role will involve conducting detailed studies, simulations, and analysis to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of power systems, particularly focusing on the integration of renewable energy sources.
1. Utilize PSS/E and PSCAD software to perform steady-state, transient stability, power quality, and dynamic simulations of power systems, with a focus on renewable energy integration as per CEA regulations/ IEC standards.
2. Conduct power flow analysis, fault studies, reactive power studies, and voltage stability assessments to optimize the performance of renewable energy projects.
3. Develop and validate models of renewable energy generators, including wind turbines, solar PV systems, and energy storage systems, within simulation project site environments.
4. Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement grid integration solutions for renewable energy projects, considering grid codes and regulatory requirements.
5. Analyze and interpret simulation results to identify potential issues, recommend design improvements, and optimize the operation of power systems.
6. Provide technical expertise and support to project teams during the planning, development, and commissioning phases of renewable energy projects.
7. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to power system simulation and renewable energy integration.
8. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate analysis findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Strong proficiency in power system analysis and simulation software, including PSS/E and PSCAD.
- Prior experience in renewable energy projects, especially within the Indian context, is strongly preferred. Additionally, candidates should have previous experience coordinating with RLDC/CTU/CEA for simulation reports and discussions.
- Solid understanding of power system fundamentals, including generation, transmission, and distribution concepts.
- Familiarity with grid codes, CEA standards, working group reports, and regulations governing the integration of renewable energy sources.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data and simulation results.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
