Project Engineer – Electrical As a Project Engineer – Electrical you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative electrical building services solutions across diverse projects. Working under limited supervision, you will take ownership of specific project elements and manage the design and implementation of electrical systems from concept to completion. This is a hybrid role, offering a dynamic balance of office-based collaboration and site-based coordination Responsibilities Take full responsibility for defined electrical design tasks and manage smaller-scale projects independently. Oversee specific elements of electrical systems design and installation, potentially supervising junior staff. Act as a QA system champion by conducting quality audits on electrical designs to ensure compliance with internal standards. Manage and maintain the project design file and uphold company-wide electrical design protocols. Serve as the system owner for electrical services—designing, coordinating, and reviewing building power distribution and services infrastructure from initial concept through to project closeout. Conduct continuous design verification and quality assurance checks on installations in accordance with IEC, BS, IS, and EN standards. Produce detailed tender documentation, technical reports, cost analyses, and engineering recommendations. Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure issues are proactively identified and resolved on-site. Contribute positively to internal and external stakeholder interactions, promoting , company values and engineering excellence. Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, supporting their growth and professional development. Balance project priorities effectively, adapting to changing demands and delivering high-quality work within tight timelines. Technical Skills Proficient in Electrical building services design, including lighting & power. Competent in design documentation and coordination using tools such as: Microsoft Office Suite AutoCAD and Revit MEP Bluebeam for drawing review and mark-up Familiarity with mechanical analysis software (e.g., ETAP, AMETECH, DIALUX) similar is an advantage. In-depth knowledge of applicable standards: NEC. Strong understanding of lifecycle design documentation, QA systems, and project file management. Experience & Qualifications Typically, 4–6 years of experience in electrical design engineering within building services consultancy. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent). Working towards Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent. Experience managing or mentoring junior engineers is desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple tasks efficiently. Soft Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage confidently with clients, contractors, and internal teams. Excellent organizational skills with a proactive and structured approach to task management. Adaptable and able to switch seamlessly between tasks and responsibilities. Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical judgments.
