Job Description

JOB PURPOSE - The incumbent in this role will be responsible to formulate and drive a consistent approach towards all sourcing, purchasing and tendering activity within the Manufacturing category (Polymer Business) ensuring value add through cost savings. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Category annual planning Proactively participate in the annual business planning meetings of the concerned BUs to understand plans and derive material requirements Determine capacity basis the derived material need; devise a strategy to ensure timely and cost-effective fulfilment of the capacity requirement Work with the CSCO (Chief Supply Chain Officer) to finalize cost savings targets for the category aligned with business requirements Develop the category annual plan basis capacity and cost targets ensuring its timely implementation by working closely with Category Managers Design appropriate reporting and monitoring mechanisms that clearly highlight cost savings achieved by category Strategy formulation and process development Formulate the category procurement, negotiation and capacity planning strategies to provide cost effective and timely service to concerned businesses; ensure alignment of the formulated strategy with that of other categories Develop/modify the procurement and capacity planning processes basis experience, observations from periodic reviews and work with the concerned stakeholders to drive their implementation Monitor compliance to set processes through regular reviews on supplier selection, budget adherence, documentation completion, timely updates on SAP, capacity scheduling etc. Formulate the costing strategy for projects and proactively work with the BD and BU teams to negotiate contractual arrangements with suppliers to ensure that value for money and excellent service levels is maintained Supplier Management Build and maintain critical supplier relationships by ensuring that all concerns raised by the supplier are addressed promptly and more opportunities are created for the supplier to expand its business with Varroc Develop a suitable contract database and protocol for ongoing supplier management including the ongoing creation, rationalization and management of suppliers along with a clear contractor overview highlighting key contracted information Meet with key suppliers every month for capacity scheduling aligned with formulated capacity planning strategies; influence to accept plans/scenarios Discuss required investment commitments from the supplier and support (if any) to be offered by Varroc Work closely to manage spikes or reduction in production basis changing customer requirements. Monitor and track progress of suppliers performance in line with KPIs, contractual obligations and service level agreements Resolve conflicts and disputes between user teams and supplier in a timely manner to prevent any lag in delivery of materials Team development Participate in recruitment process to identify the right talent across positions within the function Establish individual performance expectations and regularly review individual performance of the team Identify and create development opportunities for team members to enhance functional knowledge QUALIFICATION Minimum Qualification required: Bachelors degree in Engineering (BE / B.Tech) Qualifications preferred: MBA / PG in Supply Chain Management WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum 15-20 years of experience Strong exposure of sourcing for Automotive Polymer components (MANDATORY) Understanding of automotive polymer products and manufacturing processes (MANDATORY) Strong exposure of managing Tier 1 / 2 automotive suppliers Knowledge of procurement analysis tools Show more Show less
