About Our Client
Our client is a global market leader in providing innovative and energy-efficient field devices for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. They specialize in damper actuators, control valves, sensors, and meters, focusing on solutions that enhance comfort, energy efficiency, and safety in buildings.
- Responsible for developing a preference for products with targeted, major sensors and meters companies, OEMs, and cooling system design influencers with global headquarters and/or in-house global engineering centers located in India.
- Develop and maintain relationships within the executive, facility design/management, engineering, and procurement ranks of these accounts to increase sales across all sales channels.
- Contribute to the development of a well-defined, global vertical market strategy with a unique value proposition for targeted accounts.
- Execute the developed strategy effectively in the India region.
- Build personal relationships at targeted accounts to develop a preference for products on a regional and/or global basis.
- Provide a superior level of support to target accounts regardless of their chosen sales channel.
- Position customization and technology advantages, tailored to specific target accounts, to create value, brand preference, and long-term loyalty.
- Utilize CRM to communicate target account project details to all involved personnel.
- Work closely with team members across all sales channels to ensure successful sales outcomes on projects involving targeted accounts.
- Develop annual revenue goals for target accounts and utilize CRM to track achievement against those goals.
- Develop and maintain a database of all known projects in the "sales funnel," including demand forecasting, and ensure appropriate team members are informed of project-specific developments.
- Share best practices and coordinate the pursuit of global sensors and meters projects with BDMs in other regions.
- Act as an ambassador to the tech community and industry associations; be active and network within sensors and meters industry trade organizations.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Business Development Manager - Sensors & Meters should have:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 10 years' experience in sales, account management, and new business development, particularly with large, complex accounts.
- Sales experience in the Sensors and Meters market strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated HVAC industry experience and strong systems knowledge.
- Strong organizational, inter-personal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships.
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Self-motivated with ability to structure work schedule and work independently from a home office.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other basic computer skills necessary to complete sales reporting requirements and manage home office.
- Willingness to travel 60%
