Responsible for enterprise wide TSM infrastructure and Data Domain storage. Duties include; provisioning, implementation / integration, standards / governance, patch management, monitoring, support, root cause analysis and performance tuning. • Performs strategic analysis and design of TSM infrastructure and makes recommendations on improvements and/or new systems required to meet business needs and future capacity. • Ability to provide 24x7 rotating on-call support • Manage the backup and restoration of systems using Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) • Install, maintain, update and administer TSM. • Daily corporate backups using TSM software and monitoring of schedules for failed and missed backups. • Disaster Recovery (DR) preparation and testing • System Administration of AIX operating system, IBM Storage, Data Domain Virtual Tape Libraries, and IBM LTO Libraries • Fine-tune and troubleshoot TSM environment for optimal performance and resolve complex issues in a timely manner. • Diagnose TSM platform issues (server and client side) and provide Support in complex, business-critical environment including physical and virtual infrastructure. • Produce basic project plans, root cause analysis documents, change/risk assessments, and product management documentation. • Create and update documentation including daily backup reports. • Perform activities related to install, configure and managing SAN devices(Hitachi/EMC/IBM) and fiber switches • Administer Brocade director FC switches as well as blade chassis FC devices. • Execute FC zoning for development and production storage volumes. • Manage (Hitachi/EMC/IBM) snapshot as well as recovery methods for storage volumes. • Execute across-site replication of significant DR data. • Supervise volume replication overnight jobs and execute improvements. • Oversee IO performance of production along with development of databases LUNs. • Provide architecture as well as performance recommendations to DBAs and Ops. • Conduct bottleneck evaluation to identify performance issues. • Ensure backup methods are in place as well as tested for FC LUNs. • Develop and maintain records for entire storage as well as FC systems. • Administer entire server systems. • Collaborate with DBA as well as Ops to assure apt storage usage. • Evaluates and applies software upgrades and support packs as required to solve production problems and/or ensure compliance and system integrity. • Consults with senior engineers while working with infrastructure and applications teams to troubleshoot complex problems, providing root cause analysis and remediation to mitigate future risk. • Provide technical support to IT Managers, Application Development Teams, DC Systems Managers and Information Security as requested. • Participates in regular on call rotation, providing 24x7 support meeting business SLA’s.
