Role & Responsibilities Design, code and maintain RPG IV/Free and CL programmes on IBM iSeries AS400 platform to meet business requirements. Develop and optimise DB2/400 database queries, stored procedures and triggers for high-volume transactional workloads. Collaborate with business analysts and functional teams to translate functional specs into technical solutions and project deliverables. Conduct unit, integration and performance tests, debug defects and implement fixes following change-management guidelines. Document technical design, promote code through DevOps pipelines, and ensure SOX-compliant release cycles. Provide on-site production support, performance tuning and knowledge transfer to junior developers and end users. Skills & Qualifications Must-Have 3–6 years hands-on RPG IV/Free and CL development on IBM iSeries/AS400. Strong expertise in DB2/400 SQL scripting, query optimisation and file handling. Solid understanding of ILE concepts, service programmes and modular coding standards. Experience with job scheduling tools (Robot/Scheduler or equivalent) and message handling. Familiarity with version control and change-management systems (Aldon, TurnOver, etc.). Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for on-site stakeholder interaction. Preferred Exposure to API integration (REST/JSON or SOAP) from AS400. Knowledge of modernisation tools such as Profound UI or LANSA. Background in manufacturing or supply-chain ERP modules.
