Location: Bengaluru, Gurugram, Pune, Colombo (Sri Lanka)

Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days

Job Purpose

The Application Support Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the stability and availability of critical applications. This includes monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in alignment with defined SLAs and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 technical support for applications
• Monitor application performance and system health
• Identify and resolve application issues proactively
• Investigate and resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs
• Escalate complex issues to the Service Manager or senior teams
• Document support activities, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions
• Participate in shift handovers and knowledge-sharing sessions
• Perform routine maintenance tasks for optimal performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional support teams
• Maintain and update technical documentation and knowledge base
• Assist in implementing new applications and updates
• Mentor and provide support to junior team members

Required Skills and Experience

• 2 to 4 years in application or technical support roles
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with either C# or Java for application troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems
• Proficiency in Python, and scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell
• Hands-on experience with MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and SQL query optimization
• Understanding of network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting
• Experience with server management and configuration (web/application servers - desirable)
• Familiarity with ITIL incident management processes
• Experience using monitoring/logging tools (Nagios, Splunk, ELK stack)
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git (desirable)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud - desirable)
• Experience in Fixed Income Markets or financial application support is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to processes
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Adaptability to shifting priorities and client needs
