API Developer - Node.js

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Node.js and related technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications.
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in API development, with a strong focus on Node.js.
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience and comfort with DevOps particularly focused on AWS and Github.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS (Tailwind), JavaScript, and frameworks/libraries like React.js and Vue.js.
• Experience with back-end or full-stack frameworks such as Express.js or Nest.js.
• Experience with authentication, authorization, Role-based Access Control, and middlewares in Node.js APIs using Passport.js and inbuilt Express functionality.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
• Familiarity with both relational and non-relational database technologies such as MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git.
• String familiarity and comfort with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills in English and Hindi.
  

Good-to-have Skills

• Experience with TypeScript.
• Knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Communication skills in Kannada, Tamil, or Telugu.
