Role Overview:

As a Junior UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for crafting intuitive, engaging, and accessible user experiences across both internal and client-facing projects. Working closely with senior designers and product managers, you will learn industry best practices while independently managing end-to-end design tasks in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

User Research & Discovery

• Assist in planning and conducting user interviews, surveys, and competitive analyses.
• Translate insights into actionable personas, journey maps, and jobs‑to‑be‑done.

Information Architecture & Flows

• Sketch and iterate on user flows that simplify complex tasks.
• Contribute to site‑map and navigation decisions ensuring clarity and consistency.

Wireframing & Prototyping

• Produce low‑ to mid‑fidelity wireframes in Figma or Sketch.
• Build interactive prototypes for stakeholder reviews and usability tests.

Visual & Interaction Design

• Design pixel‑perfect UI screens adhering to Zangoh's evolving design system.
• Apply principles of typography, color, spacing, motion, and accessibility (WCAG).

Usability Testing

• Prepare test scripts, observe sessions, and synthesize findings.
• Iterate rapidly to improve task success, satisfaction, and completion time.

Collaboration & Handoff

• Work closely with engineers to ensure design feasibility and smooth hand‑off via specs and design tokens.
• Participate in agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint reviews, retros).

Design System Evolution

• Contribute components, interaction patterns, and documentation to our shared design library.
• Advocate for consistency and scalable design decisions.

Continuous Learning

• Track emerging design trends, AI‑driven UX patterns, and new tooling.
• Share learnings with the team through design talks or weekly inspiration sessions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or final‑year completion) in Design, HCI, Visual Communication, or related field.
• ≤ 1 year of professional experience (internships and academic projects count).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end design thinking: research → wireframes → polished UI.
• Working knowledge of Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD; familiarity with FigJam or Miro for workshops.
• Understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and basic accessibility standards.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to present design rationale to cross‑functional teams.

Nice‑to‑Have:

• Basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills (to speak developers' language).
• Exposure to design systems, component libraries, or token‑based theming.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows or tools (Jira, Trello, Linear).
• Curiosity about AI‑first product design and conversational interfaces.
