The System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and systems. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of systems while troubleshooting issues and planning for future IT needs.
Design, configure, and maintain servers, systems, and networks (Windows/Linux).
Monitor system performance, availability, and security using appropriate tools.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues.
Install and upgrade operating systems and software, applying patches and updates.
Manage system backups, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
Implement and enforce system security policies (e.g., firewalls, antivirus, access control).
Collaborate with IT teams, developers, and other departments to support projects and deployments.
Document systems architecture, configurations, procedures, and changes.
Provide technical support and training to end-users or internal teams.
Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions for optimization.
Proficiency in operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent documentation and communication abilities
