Role Overview We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Python and scalable system architecture. This is a hands-on individual contributor (IC) role where you’ll design and develop high-performance, cloud-native backend services for enterprise-scale platforms. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, production-grade solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and build distributed, microservices-based systems using Python Develop RESTful APIs, background workers, schedulers, and scalable data pipelines Lead architecture discussions, technical reviews, and proof-of-concept initiatives Model data using SQL and NoSQL technologies (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, ClickHouse) Ensure high availability and observability using tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, and Datadog Automate infrastructure and CI/CD workflows using Terraform, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins Prioritize security, scalability, and fault-tolerance across all services Own the entire lifecycle of backend components—from development to production support Document system architecture and contribute to internal knowledge sharing Requirements 10+ years of backend development experience with strong Python proficiency Deep understanding of microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native development (AWS preferred) Expertise in API design, authentication (OAuth2), rate limiting, and best practices Experience with message queues and async systems (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ) Strong database knowledge—both relational and NoSQL Familiarity with DevOps tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, Jenkins Effective communicator with experience working in distributed, fast-paced teams
