Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Solar Design & Estimation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed solar project designs and accurate cost estimations for rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems. You will work closely with the sales, procurement, and execution teams to ensure technical and commercial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Design solar PV systems (rooftop and ground-mounted) using software tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, PVSyst, Helioscope, or similar.

Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), panel layouts, shadow analysis, and BOMs.

Perform site assessments using data from site visits or remote tools (Google Earth, Helioscope).

Create detailed technical and commercial proposals and costing sheets.

Calculate energy yields, system sizing, and plant performance estimates.

Work closely with sales and execution teams to support tenders, proposals, and on-site feasibility.

Estimate civil and electrical BoQ for EPC projects.

Support in vendor evaluation and technical specification comparison.

Assist in optimizing system performance, layout, and cost-effectiveness.

Ensure design compliance with MNRE, IEC, and DISCOM standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Diploma / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related engineering disciplines.

1–2 years of hands-on experience in solar PV system design and estimation.

Proficiency in design tools: AutoCAD, PVSyst, SketchUp, MS Excel.

Basic understanding of electrical components like inverters, solar panels, cables, breakers, etc.

Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and best practices in solar EPC.

Good communication and documentation skills.

Ability to work under tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy.

Preferred:

Experience in dealing with DISCOM / Net Metering / CEIG approval documentation.

Exposure to solar simulation tools and load analysis.

Familiarity with solar plant monitoring systems and IoT integrations (optional).

Remuneration: As per industry standards

Reporting to: Senior Design Engineer / Technical Head
