Software Test Automation Engineer

Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Test Automation Engineer with 3-6 years of hands-on experience in building, executing, and maintaining automated test suites for web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in QA methodologies, automation tools, and scripting, with a passion for delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced Agile environment. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Python , Pytest , and Selenium WebDriver . Develop mobile test automation using Appium for Android and iOS platforms. Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Contribute to building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to automate the testing process (using tools like GitHub Actions , Jenkins , or Azure DevOps ). Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and smoke testing to validate product features and performance. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Manage test plans, test cases, test data, and maintain test requirement traceability. Track and manage defects using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps , ensuring a thorough bug lifecycle. Contribute to QA process improvements, maintain documentation, and ensure best testing practices. Required Skills and Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on automation. Proficient in Python and Pytest for writing automated tests. Experience with Selenium WebDriver and Selenium IDE . Experience in mobile automation using Appium . Solid knowledge of SQL for database validation and data verification. Understanding of CI/CD processes and integration with automation frameworks. Hands-on experience with Git and source control best practices. Solid understanding of testing methodologies (SDLC, STLC) and QA best practices. Good to Have: Experience with Selenium Grid for distributed testing. Familiarity with Load Testing tools like JMeter. ISTQB or other QA certifications. Experience working with cloud-based testing infrastructure (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs). Exposure to behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber .
