Job Description

Senior Data Engineer


What You’ll Own


Secure Data Ingestion

  1.  Design & implement high-throughput, encrypted pipelines that pull data from Shopify, GA4, CRMs, and ad platforms.
  2. Enforce token rotation, rate limiting, and schema validation.


Data Storage Foundations

  1.  Stand up the initial data-lake / warehouse layer (MySQL + object storage; moving to BigQuery or Snowflake).
  2. Define partitioning, indexing, and lifecycle policies for multi-TB datasets.


Prediction API

  1. Build REST/JSON endpoints that expose LTV and propensities from our ML models.
  2. Optimise for low-latency inference and auto-scale under load.


Admin Panel Development

  1. Ship the first-generation admin portal in

    PHP + MySQL

    (Laravel or similar)
  2. Implement RBAC, audit logging, and health dashboards for internal teams.


Infrastructure & DevOps

  1. Provision and harden servers (AWS or GCP) using Terraform / CloudFormation.
  2. Own CI/CD, container orchestration (Docker, ECS or Kubernetes), monitoring (Grafana/Prometheus), and incident response run-books.


Required Skills & Experience


  • 5+ years

    building scalable backend systems (PHP, Python, or Node preferred).
  • Strong database chops—MySQL/PostgreSQL schema design, query optimisation, and replication.
  • Experience with message queues / streaming (Kafka, Pub/Sub, or SQS).
  • Comfortable in cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), IaC (Terraform, Pulumi), and containerisation.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices: TLS, IAM, secrets management, OWASP.
  • Proven track record integrating third-party APIs and handling large data volumes.
  • Bonus: exposure to ML inference pipelines, Looker/BI tools, or server-side tagging.
