job Title: Restaurant Manager Location: Thennattu Café, Madurai Shift Timing: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM (Single Shift Model) Reporting To: Owner/Director Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager to lead the daily operations of Thennattu Café. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in restaurant management, team leadership, and customer service, with a deep understanding of South Indian cuisine and fine-dining hospitality standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Operations Management Oversee all front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Ensure smooth service flow during peak and non-peak hours. Monitor food quality, portioning, presentation, and hygiene standards. Handle day-to-day vendor coordination and third-party deliveries (ice cream, bottled water, etc.). 2. Staff Supervision & Scheduling Manage and motivate service team, captains, kitchen staff, and housekeeping. Create and enforce duty rosters, break timings, and staff discipline. Conduct daily briefings, training sessions, and conflict resolution. 3. Customer Experience Handle dine-in guest satisfaction, complaints, and feedback with care and professionalism. Ensure a welcoming and culturally-rooted atmosphere matching the Thennattu Café brand. Collect feedback for continuous improvement. 4. Sales & Revenue Monitoring Monitor daily billing and POS data (Paid Pooja app). Drive upselling of chef specials and high-margin dishes. Identify low-selling or inefficient items and suggest improvements to the owner. 5. Cost Control Monitor wastage, portion control, and efficiency of raw material usage. Work closely with the owner on stock levels, inventory, and cost-cutting where required. Ensure optimum use of resources (gas, electricity, packaging). 6. Cleanliness & Compliance Enforce hygiene protocols in the kitchen and service areas. Ensure staff follow grooming, uniform, and phone usage rules. Maintain café ambiance, lighting, music, and restroom cleanliness. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in F&B or restaurant management. Background in South Indian or vegetarian cuisine is an advantage. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficient in Tamil and basic English. Familiarity with POS systems, basic Excel, and food costing principles. Compensation:₹30,000 – ₹40,000/month (Negotiable based on experience) Daily meals provided Performance-based incentives after 3 months
