About the Role

Resource Manager (RM)


managing resource allocation across globally distributed teams


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Project Managers (PMs) to forecast upcoming resource needs and align talent to projects.
  • Manage global resource allocation based on project timelines, individual skills, and availability.
  • Fulfil project resourcing requests (position-based, not individual-based) efficiently and accurately.
  • Proactively monitor resource utilisation and capacity to:
  • Flag under- or over-utilisation.
  • Alert the COO of resourcing shortfalls or pipeline risks.
  • Identify hiring needs well in advance to meet project demands.
  • Track and report on planned vs actual utilisation and surface any persistent over-allocation.
  • Hold resources in anticipation of upcoming assignments to minimise bench time.
  • Manage, prioritise, and escalate resource conflicts to the COO when necessary.
  • Produce scheduled and ad-hoc reports related to resource allocation, utilisation, capacity, and profitability.
  • Continuously improve resourcing processes and leverage technology to increase operational efficiency.
  • Maintain and update the resource management system with accurate and timely data.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Resource Manager, Workforce Planner, or similar role in a consulting or project-based environment.
  • Experience managing resource allocation across globally distributed teams.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery cycles and consulting operations.
  • Hands-on experience with resource management tools/software (e.g., Float, Mavenlink, Saviom, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in reporting and data interpretation.
  • Proactive mindset with a solutions-oriented approach.


Nice to Have

  • Experience in a SaaS, digital transformation, or enterprise consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with PMO operations or project financials.
  • Exposure to reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
