You will be responsible for supporting the Procurement Manager by overseeing the day-to-day procurement activities within a manufacturing facility, including sourcing raw materials, negotiating with supplier, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely release of purchase order and follow up with suppliers' delivery of required goods and spare parts to maintain production operations while optimizing costs and quality standards. What You’ll Be Doing Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for indirect materials/service, spare parts, and other plant needs. Conduct market research to identify competitive pricing and sourcing options. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and delivery terms. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Monitor supplier performance against agreed metrics (quality, delivery, cost) and address any issues. Purchase Order Management: Generate and process purchase orders based on plant production requirements. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods by tracking purchase orders and communicating with suppliers. Manage inventory levels to avoid stockouts and overstocking. Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations, volume discounts, and alternative sourcing strategies. Analyse spending data to identify areas for cost reduction. Implement cost-saving initiatives and track their impact. Quality Control: Collaborate with Quality Assurance team to ensure procured materials meet quality standards. Implement quality checks on incoming deliveries. Address quality issues with suppliers promptly. Compliance and Reporting: Adhere to company procurement policies and procedures. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. Generate regular reports on procurement activity, including cost analysis and savings achieved. What We’d Love For You To Have We are interested in you as a person: your attitude, behaviors and values. If you have experience in the following areas – this is an added advantage: Bachelor of Engineering from a reputed college (preferably electrical, mechanical or civil) - Must. Basic understanding of direct material, capex, spare part and packaging material sourcing including technical specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing processes relevant to the company's operations. Proven experience in strategic sourcing, inventory management and supplier management. Strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier proposals, cost breakdowns, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with suppliers. Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing setting. Complete understanding of procurement processes, including RFQs, tenders, and contract negotiations.
