(SA level) Job Locations: Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune Experience: 8 – 12 Years Budget: 12 – 14 LPA Education Qualification : Any Graduation Work Mode: Hybrid Employment Type: Contract Notice Period: Immediate - 15 Days Interview Mode: 2 Rounds of Technical Interview + Including Client round Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Analyst with deep expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies including COBOL, DB2, JCL, and VSAM . The ideal candidate will lead the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of mission-critical mainframe applications. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system integrity and performance. Key Responsibilities: Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and system solutions. Design, develop, test, and maintain batch and online applications using COBOL , DB2 , JCL , and VSAM . Develop and optimize JCL jobs for batch processing and automation. Create and maintain DB2 database objects (tables, views, indexes, stored procedures) and write complex SQL queries. Work with VSAM files for high-volume transaction processing. Conduct code reviews , performance tuning , and impact analysis . Prepare detailed technical documentation , including system and data flow diagrams. Provide production support , troubleshoot incidents, and perform root cause analysis. Collaborate with QA teams for system integration testing and UAT support. Participate in system upgrades , migrations , and disaster recovery planning . Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to peers. Required Skills and Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe development and analysis . Strong expertise in: COBOL (Batch and CICS-based) DB2 (including SQL, performance tuning) JCL (Job Control Language) VSAM (KSDS, ESDS, RRDS) TSO/ISPF , Endevor (or similar source control) Experience with mainframe debugging tools (e.g., File-AID, Abend-AID, XPEDITER). Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies. Solid understanding of batch processing , online transaction systems , and job scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M).
