Job Description

About Us

RINGS & I is India’s first personalised diamond ring studio — built at the intersection of craftsmanship, technology, and storytelling. We are redefining how India discovers its rings through AI-driven personalisation, made-to-order excellence, and an experience-first retail model. Our vision is to create a ring for every story, every style, and every milestone — and you will play a crucial role in making that vision tangible.

Role Overview

As Jewellery Design Development Manager, your primary role is to manage the design development lifecycle with production team at a high volume.

Key Responsibilities

A. Product Development Management

  • Manage the production pipeline of 2,000–3,000 ring designs, ensuring product quality, timely delivery, and alignment with merchandising strategy.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure feasibility, cost-efficiency, and technical accuracy in prototyping.
  • Review and verify CAD files and final renders using internal tools.
  • Finalise product aesthetics — including size variations, finishes (rose/yellow/white gold, matte/glossy), and stone/metal color variations — to match studio display strategy.
  • Conduct visual and technical QC of each piece before hand-off to IT and Virtual Merchandising.

B. Collection & Design Development

  • Lead the design and R&D of new collections based on market trends, seasonality, and brand narrative.
  • Translate mood boards and concept sketches into prototyped products and testable SKUs.
  • Own the development of experimental collections (e.g. fingerprint rings, build-your-own kits, men’s rings, etc.) in alignment with brand vision.
  • Engage with customer insights, stylist feedback, and trend data to refine product direction.
  • Continuously benchmark competitive brands for innovation and differentiation

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Product Design / Jewellery Design or a related field from NID, NIFT, IIGJ, or similar top institutes.
  • Experience: 4–6 years in product development or design roles in the fine jewelry or fashion accessories space, preferably with exposure to CAD tools and rendering workflows.
  • Tools: Knowledge of Rhino, MatrixGold, ZBrush, KeyShot, and/or other CAD-visualization tools is a plus.
  • Strong aesthetic judgment and understanding of scale, proportion, and metal-diamond-gem interactions.
  • Proven ability to manage a fast-paced design pipeline and multiple stakeholders across tech, ops, and manufacturing.
  • Prior experience in D2C or omni-channel product brands is a strong advantage.
