We are seeking an Intermediate Application Developer (IAD) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of applications using

Linux shell scripting, Java, R (for analytics), and/or Python programming

. The role involves working with

data sourced from mainframe systems

, delivered via

FTP

and managed on a

Linux platform

. Experience or familiarity with

Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications and scripts in Linux, Java, R, and Python.
• Consume and manage mainframe files delivered via FTP to Linux systems.
• Enhance and maintain existing applications, ensuring code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Perform unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
• Validate data integrity between test and production environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies.
• Document technical specifications, processes, and system configurations.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in application development.
• Proficient in Linux shell scripting and one or more of the following: Java, R, Python.
• Solid understanding of data validation and transformation processes.
• Experience with file transfer protocols (FTP/SFTP) and handling large data files.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with or knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
• Understanding of mainframe data formats and job scheduling tools.
• Exposure to automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
