Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and customize portals using HCL DX and WebSphere Portal technologies
• Create JSR-168 and JSR-286 compliant portlets using Java/J2EE
• Configure and implement custom workflows within HCL DX Workflow Manager
• Develop secure integrations using RESTful APIs, SOAP, and JSON
• Implement SSO, OAuth2, LDAP, and other authentication mechanisms
• Manage WCM (Web Content Management) templates and authoring interfaces
• Customize and develop themes, skins, and front-end UI/UX for portals
• Work on API orchestration, personalization, and dynamic content delivery
• Perform deployments, tuning, and maintenance on WebSphere Application Server
• Ensure user access, role-based permissions, and portal security best practices
  

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of experience in HCL Digital Experience (or IBM WebSphere Portal)
• Expertise in JSR-168/286 portlet standards and Java/J2EE
• Strong hands-on skills with front-end development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSP, AJAX)
• Web Content Management (WCM) experience in DX environment
• Integration experience using REST APIs, SOAP, JSON
• Workflow configuration and management in HCL DX
• Deep understanding of user authentication, SSO, and role-based security
• Experience working with WebSphere Application Server (WAS) for deployment
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with HCL DX 9.x or higher
• Knowledge of DevOps pipelines and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum delivery frameworks
