Role Overview

Database Developer (MySQL / SQL Server)

Location:

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop efficient
MySQL and/or SQL Server
databases
Write complex queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views
Optimize database performance, indexing, and query execution plans
Maintain data integrity, backups, and recovery strategies
Collaborate with developers to integrate databases into backend systems
Analyze and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks
Document database structures, flows, and configuration details

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of experience with
MySQL
,
SQL Server
, or both
Strong SQL scripting and optimization skills
Solid understanding of
relational database design
, normalization, and indexing strategies
Experience with performance tuning, query profiling, and database monitoring
Familiarity with
data migration
,
ETL processes
, and backup/recovery mechanisms
Ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement preventive measures

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of
NoSQL
databases like MongoDB is a plus
Experience working with
cloud databases
(AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL)
Understanding of
BI/reporting tools
and integration with analytics platforms
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
Exposure to data warehousing, replication, and partitioning
