Role Overview

Database Administrator (DBA)


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain relational and non-relational databases
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning recommendations
  • Perform regular backups, replication, failover testing, and disaster recovery planning
  • Ensure database security, access control, and compliance policies
  • Automate routine maintenance tasks and improve operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams on schema changes and deployments


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience as a Database Administrator or Data Infrastructure Engineer
  • Proficiency in RDBMS platforms (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra)
  • Strong skills in SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization
  • Experience managing databases on cloud platforms (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL, Azure SQL)
  • Understanding of backup/restore strategies, HA/DR, and data replication techniques


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with database monitoring tools 
  • Hands-on with scripting (Shell, Python) for automation
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Exposure to CI/CD for DB changes and version control systems (Git)
  • Understanding of compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)
