Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Embedded Systems and Robotics Intern to design and develop hardware and software solutions for our AI vision systems, with a focus on NVIDIA Jetson Nano-based applications. The intern will design 3D casings for Jetson Nano boards using AutoCAD/CAM tools, contribute to embedded systems development, and work on innovative ideas in robotics and industrial automation. The role requires expertise in STM32, Arduino, ARM64, FPGA, ROS, RTOS, PLC connectivity, and industrial communication protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus, Profinet, RS232), along with strong logic-building and electronics schematics skills.

Responsibilities

  • Hardware Design:
  • Design 3D casings and enclosures for ARM64 boards using AutoCAD or CAM tools, ensuring thermal management, durability, and compatibility with industrial environments.
  • Develop and interpret electronics schematics for embedded systems, including power management, sensor integration, and communication interfaces.
  • Prototype and test hardware designs using STM32, Arduino, or FPGA platforms for integration with ARM64-based AI vision systems.
  • Embedded Systems Development:
  • Program and configure microcontrollers (STM32, Arduino) and ARM64-based systems (e.g., ARM64) for real-time applications.
  • Implement and optimize Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) for embedded systems to ensure low-latency performance in robotics and vision applications.
  • Integrate Robot Operating System (ROS) for robotics applications, enabling communication between ARM64 and robotic components.
  • Industrial Communication:
  • Develop and configure communication protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus, Profinet, RS232) for seamless integration with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and industrial networks.
  • Ensure reliable network configuration and data transfer between ARM64 and external systems in industrial settings.
  • Innovation and Problem-Solving:
  • Contribute innovative ideas for enhancing AI vision and robotics solutions, such as improving casing designs or optimizing embedded systems for performance.
  • Apply strong logic-building skills to troubleshoot hardware and software issues in embedded systems and robotics applications.
  • Collaboration and Documentation:
  • Work closely with AI, software, and mechanical engineering teams to align hardware designs with software requirements.
  • Document designs, schematics, and code, ensuring clarity and adherence to industry standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Hardware and Embedded Systems Skills:
  • Proficiency in programming and configuring STM32 microcontrollers and Arduino platforms.
  • Experience with ARM64 architectures
  • Knowledge of FPGA development (e.g., VHDL, Verilog) for custom hardware acceleration.
  • Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) for embedded applications.
  • Robotics and ROS:
  • Hands-on experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) for robotics applications, including sensor integration and motion control.
  • Exposure to robotics systems, such as manipulators, AGVs, or vision-guided robots.
  • Industrial Communication:
  • Expertise in TCP/IP communication, network configuration, and industrial protocols (Modbus, Profinet, RS232).
  • Experience with PLC connectivity and integration in industrial automation systems.
  • Design and Schematics:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or CAM tools for 3D modeling and casing design.
  • Ability to design and interpret electronics schematics for embedded systems.
  • Logic Building: Strong analytical and logic-building skills for designing efficient hardware and software solutions.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary, onsite team environment.

Good-to-Have Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Linux environments, particularly for deploying and optimizing software on ARM64.
  • Basic knowledge of AI and computer vision concepts (e.g., object detection with YOLOv8) for integration with AI vision software.
  • Experience with C++ programming for performance-critical tasks in embedded systems or robotics.
  • Knowledge of NVIDIA’s ecosystem (e.g., JetPack SDK, DeepStream, TensorRT) for AI vision deployment.
  • Exposure to software licensing mechanisms for embedded or AI vision applications.
  • Understanding of thermal management and ruggedized design for industrial hardware.
