Dimiour - SAP ABAP Consultant

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain custom programs, reports, function modules, classes, and interfaces using ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming).
• Write efficient, reusable, and well-documented ABAP code following established coding standards and best practices.
• Provide expert-level technical support for various SAP modules, identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex technical issues and defects promptly.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring problems and implement sustainable solutions to ensure system stability and business continuity.
• Design and optimize SAP ABAP custom developments, ensuring scalability, performance, and adherence to architectural guidelines.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of existing and new ABAP programs.
• Create, modify, and troubleshoot SAP forms (Smartforms, Adobe Forms) and workflows to automate business processes.
• Implement various SAP enhancements (e.g., User Exits, BAdIs, Enhancement Spots, Implicit Enhancements) and customizations to extend standard SAP functionalities.
• Develop and maintain integrations with internal and external systems using various ABAP-based integration technologies (e.g., IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services).
• Collaborate closely with functional teams (e.g., FI, CO, SD, MM, PP) to deeply understand business requirements.
• Translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications and viable ABAP solutions.
• Perform thorough unit testing and debugging of developed programs to ensure functionality, quality, and adherence to specifications.
• Support integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) phases.
• Conduct comprehensive code reviews for peer developers to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical coaching to junior ABAP developers, fostering their growth and development.
• Stay abreast of the latest SAP advancements, new technologies (e.g., ABAP on HANA, Fiori/UI5), and industry best practices.
• Make proactive recommendations for system improvements, new development approaches, and technology :
• Experience : Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP ABAP Consultant.
• ABAP Proficiency : Strong and proven proficiency in ABAP programming, including :
• Reports (ALV, Interactive Reports)
• Function Modules, Classes, Objects
• Dialog Programming
• Data Dictionary
• Performance Tuning (SQL Trace, Runtime Analysis, Debugging)
• Debugging techniques
• SAP Module Understanding : Deep understanding of standard SAP modules and their underlying business processes (e.g., Finance, Controlling, Sales & Distribution, Materials Management, Production Planning).
• Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse technical and functional teams, and articulate technical concepts Skills (Nice to Have) :
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA development paradigms (e.g., CDS Views, AMDP, ABAP RESTful Application Programming - RAP).
• Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 development and integration with backend ABAP services.
• Knowledge of SAP Gateway and OData services.
• Experience with code versioning tools (e.g., Git).
• Relevant SAP ABAP certification
