The Job Profile
Simon & Schuster India is looking for a Commercial Manager/Director to join the leadership team.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Commercial Manager/Director will be responsible for driving data-led commercial planning and delivering sustainable revenue growth across print and digital formats.
The Job Role
This role focuses on business analysis, sales forecasting, market trends/intelligence, pricing, to shape and execute commercial strategy. They will develop and implement strategies that align with business goals and market demands. They will be responsible for achieving revenue targets through offline (wholesale and retail) and online sales, managing key stakeholder relationships, and leading negotiations on pricing, licensing, and distribution agreements. They will oversee competitor activity, prepare forecasts and performance reports, and working closely with editorial, marketing, production, and finance teams to support product launches and promotions.
The Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings sharp analytical skills, deep commercial acumen and a collaborative mindset. As a strategic thinker with strong analytical and business planning skills, you will have a deep knowledge of the publishing industry. You will have experience in publishing, FMCG, retail or a data driven commercial role with expertise in Excel, Power BI or similar BI tools.. You will have excellent communication skills with experience of working closely with editorial, marketing, and finance teams, along with skills in forecasting, budgeting, and a proactive problem-solving approach all while working collaboratively and maintaining a results-driven mindset.
