Job Title: Robotics & Automation Engineer
Department: Maintenance / Automation / Engineering
Job Purpose: To ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, programming, and optimization of robotic systems (Fanuc/ABB) and associated automation equipment including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA in manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities: Robotics (Fanuc / ABB):Program, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial robots used in various applications such as:
Spot welding
Material handling
Sealant application
CO₂ welding
Brazing & laser brazing
Sash correction
Hemming
Door fitment
Optimize robotic cycle time for efficiency improvement.
Troubleshoot robot controllers, periphery devices, and integration issues.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for robotic breakdowns and implement preventive solutions.
Collaborate with process and production teams to implement improvements in robotic functions.
Maintain backup of robot programs and controller parameters.
PLC, HMI, SCADA & Networking (Allen Bradley Preferred):Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems, HMI interfaces, and SCADA systems for automated lines.
Manage and troubleshoot industrial networks including Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, or similar protocols.
Integrate robots with PLCs and other automation systems.
Work with control systems to ensure seamless communication between robots and auxiliary equipment.
General Automation: Support installation and commissioning of new robotic and automation equipment.
Develop and maintain documentation for robotic and automation processes.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures in robotic cells.
Technical Skills Required: Robot programming and troubleshooting (Fanuc, ABB).
Experience with robotic welding, brazing, and material handling applications.
PLC programming (preferably Allen Bradley), HMI configuration, and SCADA operations.
Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, etc.).
Knowledge in robotic cycle time optimization and process improvements.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and robotic schematics.

Qualifications: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering fields.
Experience:3 to 8 years of relevant hands-on experience in robot programming, automation, and maintenance in manufacturing (automotive, body shop, fabrication, etc.).
