Job Description

SQL Database Optimization Specialist – Contract Position We are looking for an expert-level SQL Database Optimization Specialist to analyze, optimize, and automate database performance for our Front Arena trading platform . The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL performance tuning, indexing strategies, database automation, and storage optimization to enhance system efficiency and ensure long-term sustainability. Key Responsibilities 1. Database Performance Tuning & Optimization Indexing & Re-indexing: Implement re-indexing, index optimization, and fragmentation management for efficient database performance. Query Optimization: Analyze and fine-tune queries to reduce latency and enhance performance . Transaction Log Management: Optimize and restructure transaction log files for efficient database operation. Automation of Maintenance Tasks: Develop automated scripts to trigger index maintenance, re-indexing, and database optimization after every Front Arena upgrade. 2. Database Size Reduction & Storage Optimization Current DB Size: 1TB (720GB actual data, 180GB transaction logs). Optimization Strategy: Implement a single 50GB data file with 2GB auto-growth , saving up to 130GB per database . Re-indexing Strategy: Reduce database size by at least 100GB by optimizing indexing structures. Index Fragmentation Monitoring: Identify and fix fragmented indexes after data deletions to maintain system health. 3. Automation & Continuous Monitoring Automated Indexing Analysis: Implement automation to track active vs. unused indexes and suggest optimizations. Missing Index Recommendations: Identify and implement missing indexes that improve query execution time . Performance Monitoring Tools: Utilize SQL tools to monitor index usage, query execution plans, and storage trends . 4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with Front Arena Core Team & FIS Team to align database optimization strategies. Coordinate with application teams to ensure database performance supports trading operations. Provide recommendations for database infrastructure improvements . Required Skills & Experience ✅ 10+ years of experience in SQL Database Administration & Optimization . ✅ 5+ years of hands-on experience in indexing, re-indexing, and fragmentation management . ✅ Expertise in SQL Server performance tuning, indexing strategies, and database optimization . ✅ Strong knowledge of SQL Server internals, transaction logs, and query execution plans . ✅ Experience working with large-scale databases (1TB+ size) in high-performance environments . ✅ Experience in automation of SQL performance tuning and index management . ✅ Proficiency in SQL performance monitoring tools & automation scripts . ✅ Preferred: Experience with financial or trading platforms (e.g., Front Arena) Contract Position - 1 Year Location: Hyderabad Salary: upto 20-LPA For more details contact Ravi - 6301197531 Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year Benefits: Health insurance Provident Fund Schedule: Day shift Morning shift Work Location: In person
