Software Test Engineer - Manual Testing

About The Role We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer Manual Testing to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual testing methodologies, with hands-on experience testing web and/or mobile applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products by identifying bugs, improving test coverage, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Key Responsibilities Perform manual testing on web and/or mobile platforms with a strong focus on user experience and functionality. Analyze functional requirements and raise clarifications to ensure complete understanding. Design, write, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios. Review test documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards. Set up and maintain test environments; ensure readiness for test execution. Execute module, integration, system, and regression testing across releases. Perform Black Box, Regression, and Functional Testing to validate business requirements. Log and track bugs using tools like JIRA and follow through to resolution. Update test documentation based on evolving requirements or feature changes. Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts within Agile/Scrum/Kanban frameworks. Actively participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Recommend and implement improvements to test coverage and QA processes. Apply understanding of test strategy, planning, and reporting best practices. Conduct basic SQL queries for backend data verification (preferred). Exposure to automation tools like Selenium IDE/WebDriver and performance tools like JMeter is a plus. Required Skills 4+ years of hands-on experience in manual software testing Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and defect lifecycle Experience working in Agile/Scrum/Kanban environments Proficiency in test case design, execution, and defect reporting Familiarity with bug-tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA) Preferred Skills (Nice To Have) Basic SQL knowledge for data validation Exposure to Selenium or other automation frameworks Familiarity with JMeter or similar performance testing tools (ref:hirist.tech) Show more Show less
