Software Test Engineer

Location: Pune, Maharashtra
Full-Time | Mid-Level

Job Summary

As a Software Test Engineer, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of web, mobile, and AI-powered applications. You will design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps to understand product requirements and translate them into test plans and cases.
Design and implement automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
Develop API tests using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or k6.
Execute regression, performance, integration, and exploratory testing.
Work with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab) to integrate testing into the development lifecycle.
Report bugs and issues clearly in tracking systems (Jira, Linear).
Analyze test results, provide meaningful metrics, and contribute to continuous improvements in QA processes.
Ensure coverage of edge cases, internationalization, accessibility, and AI/ML validation.

RequirementsMust-Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2+ years of experience in software testing or QA.
Proficiency in automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.).
Understanding of Agile methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Experience testing REST APIs, microservices, and web applications.
Familiarity with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).

Preferred:

Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).
Exposure to testing AI/ML models and edge-case validation.
Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
ISTQB or equivalent certification is a plus.
