The Edge Platform DevTest team is responsible for qualifying the core features of edge servers. The edge servers are the web/caching/streaming distributed servers that form the Akamai Cloud.

The software integrates diverse technologies, including a web server, web client, and distributed caching engine. It offers scalable, fault-tolerant solutions for managing website traffic effectively.As a Software Development Engineer in Test II, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and implementing scalable automated testing frameworks and tools for APIs and delivery platforms.
• Developing, maintaining, and executing Python-based automated test suites ensuring robust coverage and reporting accuracy.
• Collaborating cross-functionally on test strategies and acceptance criteria with developers, DevOps, and product teams.
• Analyzing requirements, identifying gaps, ensuring coverage across platforms, and investigating root causes of issues.
• Guiding junior SDET's on automation practices, reviewing code, and enhancing testing process efficiency.
• Maintaining CI/CD pipelines, exploring tools and technologies, and documenting clear, concise, comprehensive test plans.
  

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• 2+ years of experience in software testing, with 1+ year in SDET or automation roles, with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Python or Perl automation within Unix and Linux environments.
• Demonstrate expertise in TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP protocols; debug and troubleshoot networking-related issues effectively.
• Test distributed systems, cloud platforms, and appliances utilizing modern QA methodologies and frameworks.
• Utilize RESTful API testing, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD tools, and frameworks such as Pytest or Robot.
• Demonstrate analytical thinking, effective problem-solving, excellent communication, and collaborative documentation in cross-functional technical teams.
