Position: Sales Manager

Location: Pune


Position Overview:

The Sales Manager – Pune Market will be responsible for driving room and banquet revenue for The Leela Hotels by actively managing key corporate and MICE accounts based in Pune. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven sales professional with strong market intelligence, an entrepreneurial approach, and a deep understanding of the luxury hospitality space. This is a highly proactive role focused on new client acquisition, relationship management, and revenue growth from the Pune market.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Acquisition & Revenue Delivery:

  • Own and drive the

    Pune market revenue target

    across all segments – Corporate, MICE, Weddings, and Luxury Leisure.
  • Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities to grow market share for The Leela Hotels portfolio.
  • Increase wallet share from existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and long-term contracting.

Client Management & Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with CXOs, Admin Heads, Travel Managers, Event Planners, and Premium Agencies.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, in-person meetings, and client engagement activities in Pune and satellite cities.
  • Act as the key liaison between the client and hotel teams to ensure seamless delivery of guest experience and services.

Market Development:

  • Build market intelligence to map key demand drivers, industry clusters, seasonal trends, and competitor positioning in Pune.
  • Penetrate new verticals such as BFSI, IT, Auto, Pharma, and Startups to diversify the client base.
  • Work closely with wedding planners, luxury travel agents, and premium concierge services.

Sales Strategy Execution:

  • Implement tactical sales plans to boost short-term business, including promotions, roadshows, and B2B events.
  • Coordinate with Revenue and Marketing teams to develop tailored packages for the Pune clientele.
  • Plan and participate in sales blitzes, client events, and brand-building initiatives in Pune.

Reporting & CRM Management:

  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and update CRM with accurate lead and account details.
  • Submit weekly sales reports, account movement updates, and business conversion forecasts.


Candidate Profile:

  • Education:

    Graduate in Business Administration / Hotel Management. MBA preferred.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 3–5 years of sales experience in luxury hotels or premium hospitality brands, with proven exposure to the Pune market.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation ability
  • In-depth knowledge of the Pune corporate landscape and buying behavior
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles and client servicing across multiple stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, and sales analytics
