Job description : Overview: The Store and Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a retail store while also managing the procurement of goods and services. This role requires a blend of operational management, strategic planning, and negotiation skills to ensure efficient store operations and cost-effective procurement. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management and Procurement : Manage daily store operations, including staff supervision and customer service. Develop and execute purchasing strategies to procure goods and services efficiently. Ensure compliance with purchasing standards and protocols. Strategic Planning and Market Analysis : Develop sales strategies for the store and forecast market trends to optimize procurement. Analyze sales data to improve profitability and adjust purchasing decisions accordingly. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Inventory Management and Vendor Relations : Manage store inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks. Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts. Financial Management and Budgeting : Create and manage store budgets, monitor expenses, and analyze financial reports. Track procurement costs, negotiate deals, and analyze expenses to reduce expenditure. Leadership and Communication : Lead and train store staff, resolve customer complaints, and communicate with stakeholders. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth procurement processes and align with organizational goals. Required Skills: Strong leadership and negotiation skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in inventory management and procurement software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strategic thinking and risk management capabilities. Experience: Experience in manufacturing management and procurement is preferred. Background in supply chain management or a related field is beneficial.
