The role involves designing and optimizing tools and systems that enhance manufacturing productivity, accuracy, and safety. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop jigs, fixtures, gauges, and tooling for production and inspection processes. Work on automation concepts involving sensors, pneumatics, and actuators. Support the design and integration of robotic solutions for industrial applications. Collaborate with VMC programmers to ensure fixture compatibility and part accuracy. Operate and maintain 3D printers for prototyping and low-volume production. Perform 3D scanning of components for reverse engineering and quality control purposes. Develop and manage 2D/3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings. Generate BOMs, documentation, and work instructions. Assist in shop floor implementation, trials, and troubleshooting. Required Skills:Proficient in CAD software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools. Hands-on experience in jig & fixture design for VMC/CNC applications. Basic knowledge of VMC programming (G-code and tooling understanding). Understanding of industrial automation hardware and systems. Familiarity with robotic arms, grippers, or collaborative robots (preferred). Practical experience in 3D printing technologies (FDM/SLA) and slicing software. Knowledge of 3D scanning tools and post-processing for reverse engineering. Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. Qualifications:Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or allied field. 2–3 years of industry experience in tooling design and related domains.
