Role description

Job Title: Data Visualization Lead
Hiring Location: Across UST locations
Experience Range: 8–12 years

Must-Have Skills:

  • Deck.gl, React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, SQL, Carto, JSON, API, CI/CD, Java.
  • Strong front-end development experience (8+ years), with a minimum of 2 years focused on data visualization
  • Proficiency in React.js and Deck.gl (including Layers, Views, and Carto integration)
  • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML/CSS, and rendering technologies such as WebGL and Canvas
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets, geospatial data (GeoJSON, TopoJSON, tilesets), and coordinate systems
  • Hands-on experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., D3.js, Lodash) and RESTful APIs
  • Proven leadership skills in guiding small development teams, including mentoring, code reviews, and project delivery
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create intuitive, responsive, and accessible data visualizations for a variety of devices

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Familiarity with design systems and tools like Figma or Storybook
  • Background in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) or experience working with urban data
  • Knowledge of state management libraries such as Redux or Zustand
  • Experience with modern build tools like Vite or Webpack
  • Exposure to performance profiling and optimization tools
  • Prior experience working in fast-paced Agile environments
