Role : L2 - Network Engineer

Location : Bengaluru

Experience : 9-12 Year's

Mandatory Experience :

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent certification is preferred.

• Minimum of 4-5 years of hands-on experience in network support or network engineering roles.

• Strong experience with networking technologies such as routing, switching, and VPNs.

• Practical experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, or Wireshark).

• Experience with enterprise-level network devices (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.).

• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.

• Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, and OSPF.

• Experience with IP addressing and subnetting.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical users.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.

L2 Network Engineer will be responsible for providing second-line support for network infrastructure, troubleshooting, and assisting with network operations. This role will involve working on complex network issues, performing routine maintenance, assisting with network optimization, and ensuring network performance and security.


Key Responsibilities:

Network Troubleshooting: Provide second-line support to resolve network issues escalated from L1 support, including network connectivity, performance issues, and hardware faults.

Configuration & Maintenance: Assist with the configuration, installation, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment.

Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance and traffic, using tools to detect issues such as bottlenecks, downtime, or unusual activity.

Documentation: Maintain network documentation including network diagrams, inventory, IP addresses, configurations, and change logs.

Troubleshooting Network Protocols: Diagnose and resolve issues related to common network protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, etc.

Network Optimization: Assist in the optimization of the network to enhance performance, scalability, and availability.

Escalation Support: Provide support and escalate unresolved issues to L3 Network Engineers or network architects as required.

Incident & Change Management: Follow established incident management and change management processes to ensure timely and proper resolution of network-related problems.

Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to address hardware failures, service outages, and other network-related concerns.
