Job Description

The University seeks a dynamic, disciplined, and highly responsible individual to take charge as Administrative Head. The role demands an individual from a distinguished Army background who can bring a high level of operational efficiency, strategic planning, and leadership to campus administration and estate management. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning of the campus infrastructure and services, while maintaining high standards of discipline, compliance, and institutional integrity. Key Responsibilities 1. Campus Administration & Estate Management Oversee and manage the entire university infrastructure, including academic and residential buildings, recreational areas, and utilities. Ensure optimal utilization, upkeep, and maintenance of campus facilities. Manage AMC contracts, vendors, utilities, and civil/electrical works related to estate and infrastructure. Coordinate and supervise new construction, renovations, and campus expansion activities. 2. Compliance & Liaison Act as the nodal officer for all government and statutory compliance-related activities (Fire, Municipality, Police, Safety, etc.). Liaise with regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies, and local bodies as required. Maintain updated records and documentation in alignment with university and statutory compliance norms. 3. Safety, Security & Discipline Plan, implement, and regularly monitor campus safety and security protocols. Supervise and lead the campus security team to ensure 24x7 safety and discipline. Conduct safety drills, fire safety preparedness, and emergency response initiatives. 4. Housekeeping, Facilities & Services Supervise and manage outsourced housekeeping services to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards across the campus. Ensure upkeep of common facilities such as classrooms, auditoriums, washrooms, dining areas, lawns, etc. Monitor and maintain water, electrical, and power backup systems (generators, solar, etc.) 5. Event Planning & Execution Plan and coordinate all major campus events including convocations, cultural programs, dignitary visits, workshops, seminars, etc. Work in collaboration with academic and administrative teams to ensure seamless execution of all events. Ensure venue readiness, logistics, protocol arrangements, and hospitality as per university standards. 6. Team Management Lead and manage a team of estate, housekeeping, security, transport, and facility staff. Implement performance monitoring, discipline, and training to ensure efficient service delivery. Desired Profile Retired Army Officer from Indian Defence Services, not below the rank of Colonel. Proven experience in administration, facility management, or related leadership roles post-retirement is desirable. Strong organizational, leadership, and multitasking skills. High level of discipline, integrity, and a solution-oriented mindset. Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal abilities. Familiarity with statutory and compliance norms relevant to educational institutions will be an added advantage. Compensation: Commensurate with experience and aligned with university norms.
