Role Overview

We are hiring an HCL DX & WebSphere Portal Specialist with deep expertise across portal architecture, performance optimization, and backend integration. This role focuses on ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of large-scale DX implementations. You will serve as the go-to expert for diagnosing portal issues and enabling enhancements aligned with enterprise IT architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide architecture and performance consulting on HCL DX and WebSphere Portal
  • Review and tune portal deployments, JVMs, and caching configurations
  • Work closely with DevOps to optimize WAS environments and CI/CD pipelines
  • Troubleshoot DX platform errors, HTTP failures, and configuration mismatches
  • Recommend best practices for SSO, LDAP integration, and role-based access
  • Enable monitoring, alerting, and performance dashboards for DX systems
  • Contribute to upgrade/migration efforts and cloud/hybrid architecture readiness

Must-Have Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of HCL DX and WebSphere Application Server
  • Portal tuning, JVM optimization, and cache configuration
  • Troubleshooting deployment, memory, and thread pool issues in WAS
  • Strong understanding of DX internals including WCM, workflow, and rendering

Preferred Skills

  • Portal migration experience (WPS to HCL DX)
  • Familiarity with tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, or New Relic for DX monitoring
  • Scripting experience for automation (Python, Jython, wsadmin)

Soft Skills

  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting mindset
  • Leadership in high-pressure resolution scenarios
  • Clear documentation and communication skills
