RedHat OpenShift Administrator

    : 125 US Dollars per day (15,63 per hour)


TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deploy and configure multi-node Red Hat OpenShift clusters in a secure, scalable, and high-availability setup.
  • Implement and manage OpenShift Virtualization, persistent storage, and networking components (Cisco ACI).
  • Perform test migrations of existing virtual machines from current VmWare environment to OpenShift.
  • Secure the OpenShift environment using RBAC, TLS encryption, and integration with identity providers (e.g., Active Directory LDAP).
  • Evaluate existing local Kubernetes PoC and propose possible integration with OpenShift.
  • Monitor and optimize cluster performance, resource usage, and application deployment pipelines.
  • Provide guidance on scaling strategies, CI/CD integration, VM operations and container lifecycle management.
  • Develop and deliver Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cluster operations, VM migration, upgrades, patching, backup/restore, and disaster recovery.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer and training sessions for operations teams, covering the installation of the environment, day-to-day operations, and migration of VMs
  • Provide expert guidance and support to ICTS in evaluating and comparing OpenShift with other potential solutions.


QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE


Essential

At least 2 years of experience administering Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes-based platforms.

Proven ability to install, upgrade, and maintain OpenShift clusters on Linux platforms.

Experience with OpenShift Operators, Helm charts, and container orchestration.

Strong understanding of Linux server environments and containerization (e.g. Docker).

Familiarity with OpenShift security features, including SCCs, RBAC, and TLS.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Ability to automate cluster operations using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or OpenShift Pipelines.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex cluster issues.

Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration is an advantage.


Education and General Experience

First degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

5 years in System Administration, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.

At least 2 years managing OpenShift or Kubernetes environments.

Ability to train and support development and operations teams.

Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

Fluency in English.
