Equity Research Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Analysis: Analyze the financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) of Indian companies, evaluating their financial health, growth potential, and risks.
• Sector Research: Conduct sectoral analysis for key industries in India such as IT, Pharma, Banking, Infrastructure, FMCG, etc., and provide insights into macroeconomic trends affecting those sectors.
• Valuation: Use a variety of valuation methods like Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Price-to-Earnings (P/E), and Relative Valuation to determine the fair value of Indian stocks.
• Investment Recommendations: Offer actionable buy/sell/hold recommendations based on in-depth analysis of companies and sectors listed on the NSE/BSE.
• Compliance: Ensure research processes comply with SEBI regulations and industry standards in India.
• Research Reports: Produce detailed research reports and whitepapers that provide investment insights to Indian investors, backed by financial models and industry research.
• Market Monitoring: Stay updated with Indian market trends, corporate announcements, earnings reports, and government regulations impacting stock markets.
• Client Interaction: Engage with institutional clients, mutual fund managers, and high-net-worth individuals to discuss research findings and respond to queries.
• Regulatory Awareness: Stay compliant with SEBI guidelines and maintain transparency in research and recommendations.
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, economics, or commerce (CFA/CA or MBA preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in equity research within the Indian market.
• Strong understanding of Indian financial markets, stock exchanges (NSE/BSE), and SEBI regulations.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, with hands-on experience in Indian company valuations.
• Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Hindi and/or regional languages is a plus).
• Experience with financial databases such as Bloomberg, FactSet, or Thomson Reuters Eikon, as well as Indian stock analysis tools (Moneycontrol, Screener.in).
  

Preferred Qualifications

• CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CA (Chartered Accountant) certification.
• Familiarity with Indian taxation laws, corporate governance norms, and RBI regulations.
• Experience covering key sectors in India like technology, pharmaceuticals, banking, or FMCG.
• Ability to present complex financial analysis to a non-financial audience.
