Position Summary: HOD – COMPUTER SCIENCES

Computer Science & Engineering Department

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide visionary leadership to the Computer Science & Engineering department and guide faculty members in academic, research, and co-curricular activities.
• Develop and implement curriculum frameworks that reflect emerging technologies like AI, ML, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, and IoT.
• Ensure effective academic planning, delivery of lectures, laboratory sessions, and project work in line with AICTE and affiliating university norms.
• Mentor and manage a team of faculty members; plan faculty development programs, research projects, and pedagogical innovations.
• Initiate MoUs and partnerships with IT companies, EdTech firms, and research organizations for collaborative projects, internships, certifications, and placements.
• Oversee the smooth conduct of departmental examinations, student feedback systems, result analysis, and continuous assessment processes.
• Drive accreditation (NBA/NAAC) compliance processes and documentation for the department.
• Foster an active research culture through funded projects, publications in reputed journals, and participation in conferences.
• Organize seminars, workshops, FDPs, hackathons, and coding competitions to enhance students’ technical capabilities and employability.
• Support the placement cell by ensuring industry-ready students through upskilling programs, certification courses, and project-based learning.
• Maintain discipline, academic integrity, and a positive learning environment within the department.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering

• Minimum

  10 years of teaching and academic administration experience

  in reputed AICTE-approved engineering institutions.
• Should have held positions like Professor, Associate Professor, or HOD in the CSE department.
• Strong academic background with proven achievements in teaching, research publications, patents, or consultancy projects.
• Familiarity with AICTE, NBA, and NAAC accreditation processes.

Preferred Skills:

• Expertise in AI, Data Science, Cloud, Cyber Security, or IoT domains.
• Leadership skills with the ability to mentor young faculty and students.
• Excellent communication, academic administration, and documentation abilities.
• Strong connections with IT/Tech industry professionals and corporate recruiters.
• Experience in organizing national/international conferences, workshops, and FDPs.
