About the Role

ByteFolio is looking for a talented Backend Developer Intern to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code using Node.js (with Express.js) or Python (with Django/Flask).
• Develop and integrate robust, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs.
• Manage and interact with databases (SQL or NoSQL like PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Implement data protection and application security measures.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance.

Requirements

• Solid programming skills in either Node.js or Python.
• Familiarity with a relevant backend framework (e.g., Express.js, Django, Flask).
• Understanding of fundamental database concepts (SQL/NoSQL).
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Familiarity with code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
• A portfolio, GitHub profile, or project links showcasing your backend projects is a plus.
