Deputy Manager – IT

Assistant Manager – Purchase will be reporting to Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities

  • The IT Head is responsible and accountable for the smooth running of computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines.
  • The IT Head is responsible for implementing and maintaining the organization’s computing needs.
  • Manage information technology and computer systems
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Preserve assets, Information security and control structures
  • Control Computer systems Budgets and expenditures
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP)
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
  • Meet with managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines
  • Prepare annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
  • Identify, communicate and implement new technologies to enhance the long-term operational and strategic goals
  • Identifying the ‘business risks areas’ and to communicate to the top management and IMS Head for taking preventive actions.
  • Guiding the team members to follow the contingency plans.
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes
  • Assess the quality of information systems and advice top management in time regarding repair, upgrade or replacement
  • Provide orientation to new users of implemented technology
  • Providing User Training on various business application and application software
  • Provide individual training and support on request
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources
  • Troubleshoot all technology issues
  • Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
  • Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources
  • Provide network accounts and passwords as required
  • Install and maintain Foolproof and passwords
  • Input and maintain IP addresses
  • Advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
  • Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
  • Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal
  • Regulate and control network and internet access to employees
  • Provide network design, installation, monitoring, management, and troubleshooting for LAN
  • Ensuring equipment interface setup and maintenance
  • Evaluate user needs and system functionality and ensure the facilities meet these needs i.e. Coordinate priorities between the IT department and user departments
  • Ensure E-business planning is done, particularly in terms of defining the Internet presence in the company with all the latest informational updates and web support.
  • Approve and handle IT vendors used by the organization, AMC, Support agreements, Review meetings
  • Obtain competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness
  • Schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems

Authorities


  • Shortlisting the candidates of the department for interview
  • Evaluating and re-evaluating the Service Providers (e.g. Hardware / Software Service Providers, E-waste handlers, IT Consultant)
  • Reporting performance to the top management against KRAs, on behalf of the IT Process

  • Compliance of relevant Legal, Statutory and Regulatory Requirements e.g. IT Act.
  • Cyber Security / Information Security
  • Effective performance of the ERP
  • Compliance of IT SOPs under IMS
