We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager, Project & Construction to lead the execution of renewable energy projects from planning through to commissioning, ensuring timelines, budgets, and compliance requirements are met. This role involves close coordination with contractors, land and permitting teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to enable seamless project delivery and transition to operations. This role will champion Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards, manage vendor payments, and mentor site teams, while also supporting business development through project feasibility assessments and regulatory alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee project planning to ensure alignment with schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
- Execute project closure with OEM/Contractor, including Asset Transfer from Project Phase to Operation phase.
- Writing contractual correspondences/letter/claims to OEM/Contractor.
- Assess Extension of Time claims of contractors with delay analysis.
- Lead periodic review meetings with contractors and maintain all records of the same.
- Coordination with land and permit team to ensure land and all approvals are obtained as per project schedule.
- Integrate CSR inputs from site and land teams into execution planning and allocate budgets accordingly.
- Ensure full compliance with Vena HSSE policies and enforce zero deviation at the site.
- Define scope matrix for new projects/ BD contracts
- Manage timely pay-outs to vendors and contractors as per contact terms and forecast project cash flow requirements for the F&A team.
- Train and mentor site teams to support their development.
- Collaborate with BD&C to assess project suitability studies during origination.
- Develop project specific approval needs and design requirements to meet PPA and other required regulatory needs in discussion with BD&C.
- Facilitate seamless flow of material for execution of projects in discussion with Procurement and contract team.
- Plan recourses for future projects under PM control and redeployment of resources post project completion in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Working closely with planning and controlling lead/associate of projects under execution for material flow, contractor deployment, OE deployment, cash flow, project execution schedule and tracking.
- Work closely with Project Finance team for required Condition Precedent (CP) closure and provide documentation support for timely drawdown.
- Allocate necessary budgetary provisions for implementation of corrective measures as per ESGD recommendations at project site.
Prerequisites
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.Professional certification in Project Management Professional (PMP).Minimum 15 years of extensive experience in Construction and Project Management.Demonstrated expertise in:- Project Planning, Cost Estimation, and Cost Control
