Ab Initio Developer

Job Description

P1 C1 TSTS We are looking for a seasoned Senior Ab Initio Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of complex ETL processes within large-scale enterprise data environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Ab Initio development and architecture, with strong exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS services, and legacy-to-cloud migration projects. Experience collaborating with teams using Python, Kafka, and modern orchestration tools is a plus. Lead design, development, and support of Ab Initio ETL workflows for batch and real-time data processing. Architect and optimize Ab Initio graphs for performance, scalability, and maintainability in hybrid on-prem and cloud environments. Collaborate with cloud and data engineering teams to migrate and modernize ETL workflows to platforms like Snowflake and AWS. Build reusable components and frameworks leveraging Python for automation and orchestration of ETL jobs. Integrate Ab Initio workflows with streaming platforms such as Kafka for real-time data ingestion. Participate in legacy system modernization initiatives, utilizing tools like SnowConvert to facilitate code migration. Work with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD for ETL workflows, ensuring automated testing, deployment, and monitoring. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions promptly. Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in ETL development, data governance, and cloud migration. 8+ years of hands-on experience in Ab Initio development and architecture. Strong experience in ETL design patterns, performance tuning, and debugging Ab Initio graphs. Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue) and cloud data warehouses like Snowflake. Familiarity with Python scripting for automation, testing, and ETL orchestration.Knowledge of real-time streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis Experience in migrating legacy ETL workloads to modern cloud-based data platforms. Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and automated deployments. Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational and cloud-native databases. Proven ability to lead technical teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Experience with SnowConvert or similar ETL migration toolFamiliarity with data governance, security, and compliance best practices.Ab Initio certifications are a plus
