Job Description

Job Title : Azure SQL Database Administrator (3+ Years Experience) Location : Trivandrum Experience : 3+ Years Job Type : Full-time Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Azure SQL Database Administrator to manage and maintain our SQL Server databases hosted on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will ensure the availability, performance, security, and integrity of our databases while supporting development teams and improving database infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Azure SQL Database, SQL Server on Azure VMs, and SQL Managed Instances Monitor database performance and tune SQL queries, indexes, and configurations for optimal efficiency Implement backup and recovery strategies using Azure Backup, Geo-replication, and Point-in-time restore Ensure high availability and disaster recovery setups using Always On, Failover Groups, or Geo-replication Automate database maintenance tasks using PowerShell, Azure Automation, or Runbooks Manage RBAC, firewall rules, network security groups, and auditing policies Implement and monitor security standards including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Threat Detection, and Auditing Troubleshoot issues related to performance, connectivity, locking, blocking, and deadlocks Collaborate with developers for query optimization and schema design reviews Maintain documentation of processes, configurations, and access control Required Skills 3+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA At least 2+ years of experience working with Azure SQL Database services Proficiency in T-SQL, SSMS, and SQL Profiler Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Query Performance Insight Strong understanding of cloud architecture and cost optimization in Azure Familiarity with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure CLI, or PowerShell scripting Knowledge of data masking, data classification, and GDPR compliance (ref:hirist.tech) Show more Show less
