Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Managing allocated projects as a Team Leader
  • Communicating and sharing resources with other Team Leaders as demands for resources ebb and flow
  • Ensuring those under your supervision perform assigned tasks effectively
  • Monitoring and reporting attendance, lateness, and extended break violation
  • Reporting to SDE’s Operations Manager any and all issues and/or concerns that arise on the production floor via email and in person
  • Approaching personnel with fairness and respect in all your dealings
  • Comprehensive understanding of employees’ strengths and weaknesses, harnessing strengths and managing weaknesses
  • Communicating effectively and with respect to all staff, with an aim to keep them motivated and performing at high levels of productivity.
  • Reviewing, understanding, and ensuring Customer Standards are followed
  • Responsible for ensuring that Grid/ABM/Connecting & Checking duties have been completed for each deliverable
  • Assisting Shift Supervisor and Team as a detailer when and if required to help maintain schedul
  •  Creating Request for Information’s (RFI’s)
  • Managing RFI Log with Project Manager/Shift Supervisor
  • Raising Extra Work Order opportunities, allocating hours, tracking approved hours.
  • Awareness and distribution of Project Data such as the Revised IFC, IFA, RFA etc.
  •  Responsible for Mentoring Junior Team Leaders
  •  Arrange internal kick off meeting/project team meeting (review recorded meeting), review kick off meeting notes, and ensuring all team members both current and future are aware and educated on all information surrounding kick off meetings.
  • Ensuring Project Folder contains all relevant information
  • Responsible for releasing shop and field drawing lists for editing when working in multi-office workflow
  • Responsible for issuing shop and field packages/sequences

Projects:

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the steel detailing industry.

Development:

  • Level 1: Connection design course or NISD Detailing Class II (or approved equivalent by the Quality Assurance Manager) and Tekla Evaluation
  • Level 2: Managing Successful Team Meetings Training, Dowco Processes Exam and Tekla Evaluation
  • Level 3: NISD Detailing Class 1 (or approved equivalent by the Quality Assurance Manager) and Tekla Evaluation
