Senior Python Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with deep expertise in integrating and managing payment gateways. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable payment systems, ensure secure transactions, and work closely with product and engineering teams to deliver seamless payment experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust backend services in Python for payment processing.
• Integrate various payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Adyen, Braintree, etc.) into our systems.
• Design secure and scalable APIs and microservices to handle payments, refunds, subscriptions, and settlements.
• Implement PCI DSS compliant payment solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve payment-related issues and edge cases.
• Optimize payment transaction workflows to minimize failures and improve success rates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps) to deliver features on schedule.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Monitor and enhance the performance and reliability of payment services.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and regulations in digital payments and fintech.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Python (3+ years of professional experience, ideally 5+ years).
• Hands-on experience integrating multiple payment gateways and understanding their APIs, SDKs, and settlement workflows.
• Solid understanding of payment flows: capture, authorization, refunds, chargebacks, subscriptions.
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS compliance and general payment security principles.
• Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Good understanding of message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) and async processing.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Preferred / Nice-to-have:

• Experience with modern frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Prior work in a fintech or e-commerce environment.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with observability tools and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
