Requirements

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced

Senior Copy Editor

to join our editorial team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of quality, accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all written content. As a Senior Copy Editor, you will be responsible for reviewing, refining, and finalizing content for publication across digital and print channels. You will work closely with writers, editors, and subject matter experts to ensure that all communication aligns with brand voice, editorial style, and audience expectations.You should have an eye for detail, a strong command of language, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. This is a leadership-oriented role, and you'll be expected to mentor junior editors and contribute to continuous improvement in editorial workflows and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Review & Editing: Edit and proofread a wide range of content—articles, reports, marketing collateral, scripts, blogs, and newsletters—for grammar, punctuation, clarity, consistency, and tone.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all copy adheres to internal style guides, brand tone, and editorial standards. Fact-check and verify information to maintain accuracy.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with writers, content strategists, marketers, and designers to ensure seamless content integration and execution.
  • Style Guide Management: Maintain and update style guides and editing checklists. Ensure editorial consistency across departments and platforms.
  • Mentorship: Train and mentor junior editors and copywriters, providing feedback to help enhance their writing and editing skills.
  • Project Management: Prioritize and manage multiple editing projects, ensuring deadlines are consistently met without compromising quality.
  • Content Strategy Support: Provide editorial insight during content planning sessions. Assist in shaping the voice and tone of new content initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 7+ years of experience in copy editing, preferably in publishing, media, corporate communications, or marketing.
  • Language & Grammar Expertise: Mastery of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Excellent editorial judgment and attention to detail.
  • Editorial Tools: Proficiency with editing tools such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Grammarly, and content management systems (CMS). Familiarity with AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or other major style guides.
  • Content Types: Experience editing various content types including long-form articles, social media copy, press releases, corporate reports, and UX/UI microcopy.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines efficiently.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in journalism, English, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience in B2B or B2C content environments.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and digital publishing workflows
