Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and field-oriented Researcher – Rural Development to support evidence-based planning and monitoring of rural development projects. The ideal candidate will design and conduct field research, analyze rural socio-economic data, and generate actionable insights to improve the impact of interventions in agriculture, livelihoods, health, education, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct field-based research and surveys in rural areas.
  • Collect qualitative and quantitative data related to rural livelihoods, government schemes, infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and employment.
  • Liaise with village communities, Panchayati Raj Institutions, SHGs, and local stakeholders.
  • Analyze data and prepare research reports, case studies, and policy briefs.
  • Monitor and evaluate ongoing rural development programs and assess their effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with program and project teams to integrate findings into implementation strategies.
  • Maintain ethical standards in data collection and ensure community consent.
  • Present findings to internal teams, donors, or government stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Rural Development, Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in rural research or development projects (freshers with fieldwork exposure can also apply).
  • Strong understanding of rural dynamics, government schemes (like MGNREGA, PMAY, NRLM, etc.), and socio-economic issues.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools (MS Excel, SPSS, KoboToolbox, etc.).
  • Fluency in local language(s) and willingness to travel and stay in rural areas.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong communication and community engagement skills.
  • Experience in impact assessment or baseline/endline surveys.
  • Report writing and documentation skills in English and Hindi (or regional language).
  • GIS or participatory rural appraisal (PRA) knowledge is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹8,145.56 - ₹23,054.83 per month
